The Faculty of Orthodox Theology “St. Metropolitan Andrei Șaguna of Trasylvania” of the “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu, through its Center for Ecumenical Research wishes to mark the 1700th anniversary of the Ecumenical Council of Nicaea and the 10 years since the Great and Holy Council of Crete (2016-2026). At the same time, it wishes to meet the interest on synodality in ecumenical perspective through an International Symposium.
The Center for Ecumenical Research (CCES) is a research institute of the “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu, established in 2005 by the Faculty of Orthodox Theology and the Department of Protestant Theology. The aim of the institute is to promote ecumenical dialog. The Institute has offered annual “Andrei Scrima” post-doctoral fellowships, The team of the Sibiu Ecumenical Research Center has been involved in several research projects carried out at the “Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu”.

This event is realised with the support and in cooperation with the East European Centre for Protestant Theology.
